2011
  • Successfully completed specialized training in Jail and Prison Detention Locks. Achieving completion of this specialization was the final step for receiving the designation of "Certified Master Locksmith" through the Proficiency Registration Program of the Associated Locksmiths of America. The CML credential provides an objective measure of an individual's knowledge and competency in locksmithing and physical security. Throughout the world, it is the locksmith profession's highest recognition of practitioners. In order to earn this credential, William A Cochran, CML, CPS, had to pass comprehensive examinations that tested his knowledge and skills in major areas of locksmithing. These areas include:

    - Motorcycle Locks and Keys
    - Door Closers
    - Life Safety Codes®

2012
  • Achieved status of "Certified Automotive Locksmith" (CAL) awarded through the Proficiency Registration Program of the Associated Locksmiths of America. This was accomplished in Bill's first sitting for this comprehensive exam which covers all aspects of domestic and import automotive key generation and lock service. Bill is the first locksmith in Northern Wisconsin to have achieved this status and is, in fact, one of the very few lock professionals in the Upper Midwest to have successfully completed this extensive and detailed evaluation. The CAL testing covers automotive service specialties ranging from classic autos from the 50's through the latest, high-security computer and transponder-controlled vehicles of the present.

2014
  • Attended Factory Certification Training held by Kaba Access. Received certification for installation and service of the Kaba X-09 and X-10 High Security Safe Locks.
  • Attended Factory Certification Training held by Sargent & Greenleaf. Received certification for installation and service of the S&G 2740-A & 2740-B High Security Safe Locks.
The Kaba X-09, X-10, and S&G 2740-A/B safe locks are the latest locks designed to meet Federal Specification FF-L-2740B. Approved by the GSA for use on Class 5 & Containers and Vault Doors used in Government facilities like the Pentagon, CIA, NSA, Air Force One, Department of Defense, and other government operations.
